Some people say you cannot take Ganoderma every day. If you take Ganoderma from January to March, you need to stop it for April. Then continue taking it from May to July, rest a month for August and so on. Is this true?
First of all, how do you take your bread? Do you eat it for three months and then stop it for a month?
No you don't. You can eat your bread every day for as long as you like. So why there are some food or supplement you cannot take every day for long term?
The answer is simple. They may contain unwanted toxins. However, you don't have to worry if the toxin level is very low. Your body can still manage to expel it out faster than the rate you take in. Therefore, these toxins will not build up in your body over time.
Your body won't have enough time to expel out all the toxins you take it. After some time, these toxins start to accumulate in your body. Consequently, you will get more uncomfortable and may experience symptoms such as headache, allergy and itchiness.
That's why some people recommend to stop taking it for a month for every four months you take it. This gives your body enough time to remove accumulated toxins and restore the balance.
And this is why you can hear doctor telling their patient:
"You can only take this medicine once a month."
"You can only take this medicine for 6 months. After that, you must stop it even you still haven't recover."
By now, you should know that almost all medicine contain various toxins in different level. Therefore, it's unwise to take medicine for long term. However, those with high blood pressure or diabetes have no choice but to use medicine to control their condition first. I'm not asking you stop your medicine right away.
Do you really need to stop taking it once a while? Well, it depends on which Ganoderma product you're taking.
The Health Ministry of each country has their own standard to determine whether a supplement is safe for long term consumption. Take mercury level for example. Mercury is a highly toxic substance found in our food due to environment pollution.
Malaysia and Singapore Health Ministry require mercury level of lower than 0.5 ppm (parts per million) in food supplement. At this low level, food supplement is safe for long term consumption.
You can safely take it every day for the rest of your life. But if the mercury level reaches above 0.5 ppm, you cannot take it for long term.
Is it safe for long term consumption?
