Superoxide Dismutase - Secret to Ganoderma anti-aging effect

 

Superoxide Dismutase or SOD is an important active component in Ganoderma Lucidum herb.

Researches showed that SOD helps to protect many types of cells from free radicals attack. This is an important factor in prolonging aging and preventing diseases caused by aging. SOD also protects cells from:

  • DNA damage

  • lipid damage

For SOD's anti-cancer experiment, scientists cultivated cancer cells in petri dish. Then, they drop SOD concentration into those cancer cells. Under microscrope, scientists noticed that cancer cells were deactivated and slowly died.

Among all living organisms, human has the highest SOD concentration. Therefore in theory, we can live up 125 years old. But usually when you reach 40 years old, your Superoxide Dismutase enzymes are only left half.
